Paco Peña Performs A Compás! at UCLA


Paco Peña will perform flamenco guitar in his show "A Compás!" at UCLA's Royce Hall this Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.

This show explores the African and Asian roots of the music and Peña’s native Andalusia, Spain and its embrace in cultures around the globe.

Don't miss this amazing group of guitarists and dancers, plus singer Miguel Ortega and percussionist Nacho López. You will surely see first hand why Paco Peña is a flamenco legend.

Flamenco Arts Festival in Santa Barbara!

The Flamenco Arts Festival will take place this Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Santa Barbara! This is the 10th Anniversary of the Flamenco Arts Festival and it always sells out so get your tickets soon at the Lobero Theatre box office.

This year features flamenco artist Maria Juncal in the U.S. premiere of Tercera Llamada: Moment of Enchantment. Directly before the show, Juan Talavera of Los Angeles will be receiving the festival's highest honor; the Lifetime Acheivement Award.

As always there will be an after party following the performance, but don't stay out too late because there are three flamenco master classes the next day! Master classes will cover Sevillanas, Bulerias, and flamenco dance technique.

This Saturday Love Flamenco will perform flamenco dance at one of our favorite spots in Santa Barbara-ArcobalenoTrade! Arcobaleno Trade is the only fair trade store in Santa Barbara. The store shares a space with French Press, a delicious cafe. Grab a latte and enjoy the show on the side patio!

Chase Palm Park Concerts in the Park series presents FUEGO!, an evening of Flamenco Latino with Tony Ybarra featuring Antoinette Lopez and Chalo Eduardo.

The concert starts at 6pm and admission is free!

The 3rd Annual Music at the Ranch Concert series presents Tony Ybarra and Sonido Moreno tomorrow, Tuesday July 21, 2009 from 5:30-7:30pm.

Bring a chair or blanket and a picnic and hear the sounds of Flamenco Latino Guitar under the canopy of Oak and Cedar Trees at the historic Stow House.

The California Wine Festival in Santa Barbara has your pre-Fiesta fiesta!
